| | The rich color on this built-in wall of file cherry cabinetry was achieved with a historical wood coloring technique known as "fuming" It differs from staining in that stains put a layer of color on top of the wood, obscuring its character, while fuming develops the natural color within the wood, aging it gracefully and giving a glowing color.
